With the push for multi-language support in eCompliance, safety managers can now enter header fields in the supported eCompliance languages on form headers (inspections, incidents and meetings). The field will adjust on the form based on the user’s preferred language in their profile settings.

Detailed guide
Below is a guide on how to use the new multi-language header fields feature on web for custom headers.
-
On the inspections, incident/hazard or meetings module, select the header fields tab. From here you can add new header fields or edit existing ones for that specific form type.
-
From the header fields page, there is a new button labelled “Show & Hide Header Field Languages” button on the top left corner. Select this button.
-
You will be prompted to select which languages to show/hide while editing the header fields. Select the languages you want to edit and click apply. English cannot be unselected, it is the default language for header fields.
Note: showing/hiding a language does not add or remove it from the form header, this is just for editing purposes. Hiding a language will also not remove the details stored in it. -
Once the selection has been applied, there will be columns in the header fields for each selected language. If there are no header fields currently on your form templates, you will need to add header fields by clicking the “+ Add Field” button on the top-right corner of the page to see the applied changes. Once more than 3 languages are selected you can horizontally scroll the header fields to view all languages.
-
You can enter the field name for all languages by typing the translated string into the specific language column. eCompliance does not automatically translate inputted text, you must translate the text into the desired language and enter it into the column yourself.
Note: the field name for English (the default language) is mandatory to fill in. If a language has no field name, the form will fetch the English field name. -
If the field question type is either multi or single select, the header field will include answer fields in all the language columns. When you click the “+ Add Answer” button, answer fields are added across all the language columns. Likewise, when you click the “X” button to remove an answer, all answers fro every language in that row will be deleted. Similar to the questions, you must translate the answers into the desired language and enter it into the column (excluding the preset Not Applicable answer, this will be translated automatically).
Note: the answers for English (the default language) is mandatory to fill in. Also, if an answer is added in any particular language, the rest of the answers must be filled in as well - either all answers or no answers are allowed in languages except for the default site language. -
Keep in mind that you can choose which header fields you want to be mandatory to answer and which header fields you want to display on form listing view (display as a column in the form listing view). Simply select the check box on the desired field to enable it.
-
Save the page once you have finished adding and editing the header fields. Once saved, the header fields will be applied to every form of that type (inspections, incident/hazard or meetings).
Note: a maximum of 10 header fields can be added -
When a user opens a form of that type (inspections, incident/hazard or meetings), the header fields will change depending on the user’s preferred language in their profile settings.
