Does Offline Mode need to be manually toggled in Field ID?

Offline mode does not need to be manually toggled on Field iD. Offline mode happens automatically when the user loses signal.

However, we highly recommend users go to Offline Mode when they know they will be in a low/no signal environment.

Why?

• Offline Mode prevents draining battery searching for signal or the system restarting uploads and downloads when the signal is intermittent.
• If a user has an offline collection and loses signal for, whatever reason, they will not have to go through the additional step of going to sync and pressing Take Offline button.
• A low network connection may cause the app to constantly switch between online and offline mode and could potentially cause glitches with the app sync. Keeping the app in a single offline or online state will help prevent issues with uploading events and assets. We recommend 'online mode' for a stable connection and 'offline mode' for an unstable connection.
