With our latest release, eCompliance Release Notes for 2024.10.31 - Web App, we've enhanced the process of inviting new employees who will use Single Sign-On to log into eCompliance and resolved related invitation acceptance issues.
Now when you create an employee with the API or through the web application, and configure that employee as an SSO user, they will no longer be sent an email invitation to accept and be required to set their password and profile information in order to login.
They can simply find eCompliance in their Identity Provider (Azure, Okta, etc.) or initiate a login with SSO on our mobile application or login page on the web.
Employees at your organization who do not use SSO will still receive an invitation and must setup their password and profile before using eCompliance for the first time. With this update, we've also resolved issues some employees where facing when attempting to accept an invitation sent from an organization with SSO enabled in their account settings.
Overall, your employees will now experience a streamlined and reliable invitation process when joining eCompliance.

FAQ:
What will happen if an employee accepts an existing email invitation, if they were already created in eCompliance before this update, and are enabled for SSO?
Employees enabled for SSO on their profiles will be able to directly open eCompliance and choose the option to login with SSO. Pending invitations will be cancelled for these employees, so they can disregard the email in their inbox. If they click the link in the email, they will see a page telling them that their invitation has been cancelled.
Can I convert an existing employee who has not yet accepted their invitation and logged in?
Yes, click on the Enable Single Sign-On button when viewing their profile or click the Edit button, turn on the Enable Single Sign-On toggle, then click save. They can disregard any invitation they may have received and login directly to eCompliance via SSO.
What can an employee expect if they have already logged with a password to eCompliance and then are enabled for SSO?
A seamless experience next time they visit eCompliance, either through their IdP, or by selecting the SSO option to login on our mobile or web applications.
