Problem
Today, deleted answers to custom header field questions are maintained in form listing views. In some cases, these can appear as duplicates if an administrator adds a new answer option similar to a previously deleted one.

This shows an older deleted option with a type at the bottom of a list, "Muncton".
Why did we fix this?
This can cause confusion for some users who may see duplicate or very similar options when searching through form headers. Continuously maintaining deleted options will also make the list of options longer and negatively impact the usability of this feature.
Solution
There remains a need for historical records with older options to still be searchable. As such, to correct the problem while ensuring the accessibility of header field data, we must move away from searching with a drop down menu and adopt a text-input search. This will ensure that older obsolete options are not visible, while still being found while searching.
The new search field will continue to support special and accented characters, along with the multiple languages that are configurable in the Header Fields. For details on using header fields, check out this article - How do I add and use Form Header fields? – Support (ecompliance.com)
