In the spirit of continuous improvement we've released a number of changes to the forms module on the eCompliance mobile app to provide more ease of use, and a consistent experience with the the web application.
Now on the forms home screen you will have a quick view of the status of forms, can filter and sort forms, and there are further improvements when completing a form.
All mobile users on version 7.8.0 and above will now see these changes applied once they have closed and re-opened the app (there is no need to logout)

1. General Changes
1.1 Single select and Multi-select questions with 5 or less options will automatically default to radio buttons instead a dropdown menu.
1.2 We've also extended the length of the text field for long notes to allow for more text input.
1.3 If a form name is too long to be fit at the top of the form, the name will be cut off with ellipses ('...'). This aims to let you know when a form name is not completed.
2. Days Elapsed Question Type
We've added a new question type that will allow your team to add a Days Elapsed field for your forms.
To get started, edit an existing or a new form template and add this question type to a form section.
On the form, you and your team will be able to select two dates to determine the time period. You can also add additional time period by tapping the (+ Time Period) button at the bottom.
To delete a time period click on the “x” button in the upper right corner of each time period section. Only additional time periods can be deleted.
Below the “This is days elapsed” fields, the total number of days elapsed will be shown including an additional 2 columns : one counting number of days excluding the weekends, and one counting number of days including the weekends.
3. Required Fields
When you or your team submits a form without filling out all of the required fields, a dialogue will popup with a warning that all some required fields are missing.
Tap on the 'Go To First Required Field' text to automatically scroll to the first required field.
4. Adding Attachments
A new attachments icon is introduced in this version to conjugate all attachment options.
By tapping on the paperclip icon in a form question, you'll get different types of attachments options:
Note - a textbox will open that will allow text input
Photo - another window will open to allow you to choose between uploading from your gallery to from your device's camera
Action Item - a page will open up to allow you to add an Action Item. Here, you can choose the Action required, priority ranking, assignee and due date
Asset - search and choose from a list of assets to add
Employee - search and choose from a list of employees to add
5. Dismissing a Scheduled Form
When a scheduled form is selected in the Not Started tab, a dialogue will appear with three options: Start Form, Dismiss Form and Cancel.
By tapping 'Dismiss Form', a page will pop up with a notes section to allow you to state your reason for dismissing the form.
6. Form Status Placement
The form statuses have been moved from the side of the listing to the bottom. This change aims to make room for the forms' details.
7. Sorting and Filters
A sorting filter is added to the top of the forms listing to allow you to sort your forms. There are 4 options to choose from: Last Updated (Oldest to Latest), Last Updated (Latest to Oldest), Date Created (Oldest to Latest) and Date Created (Latest to Oldest).
An additional filter is added to the form list page. You can access it by tapping the three horizontal lines on the top right.
Here, you can sort by form Status, Type (Inspections, Meetings, Incidents) and Site.
8. Number Keypad (Done button)
A Done button is added to the number keypad. To dismiss the keyboard, you can now tap the Done (checkmark button) on the keyboard instead of tapping outside of it.
9. Scoring
The scoring placement is changed to be displayed at the top of the question instead of the bottom.
10. Asset Viewing
You can now view you assets' detail pages when searching for an asset to be attached to a form.
When searching the asset, long press on the asset name to bring up the asset detail screen.
