Lesson 6 - Program Module Video
Watch the below video on the eCompliance program module. Detailed instructions follow the video.
Learning Objective
By the end of this lesson you will learn how to:
- Organize and manage your COR/ISO/OSHA program
- Link and upload documents to the elements/steps of your program
- Update and track the status of each element/step of your program
Program Layout
In Lesson 1, we discussed the program tab in the Program Module, and hopefully, you have selected the relevant COR/ISO/OSHA for your organization.
The program module is where you should manage your compliance program, whether you follow a Canadian COR standard, an international ISO standard, or US OSHA standard.
For the purpose of this lesson, the images show the Alberta Construction Safety Association COR standard but the steps are the same regardless of the protocol used:
Each Program can be collapsed into elements and sub-elements aligning with the breakdown of the compliance program.
Clicking on the + button will expand a section, while the - button will collapse a section.
You can interact with a sub-element by clicking on the name on the left-hand side. Each element will be accompanied by the Requirement and the Operational Guidelines on the right-hand side explaining how to achieve compliance with this particular sub-element.
Requirement Comments allow you to record internal notes on this specific sub-element.
Recommendations can be the notes that an external source such as an auditor provided you with.
You can also utilize the Create Action Item button to open and tie a corrective action to this particular sub-element (we will dig deeper into Action items in a further lesson!)
Linked Documents
Demonstrating compliance typically requires a document, you will have the option to connect a document to the sub-element by either using Upload From Computer or Link To Existing, the latter allows you to link a document from your Documents Module to the sub-element.
Update & Track Element Status
Each step of a sub-element has a white circle, indicating the current status of that sub-element.
The Status can be updated on the right-hand corner of the sub-element with the Update button.
Click on Update to display a list of possible statuses to assign to the sub-element and track where you are on the path to compliance.
Reports
There will be high-level reports on the main Program page that will break down your overall compliance progress and by compliance by element.
This wraps up Lesson 6 on the Program Module, next we will focus on form building.
Top 3 key takeaways from this lesson are:
- Corrective actions can be opened and linked to specific elements
- You can link documents from the Documents Module to elements
- You can change the status of each element to track your progress.
Homework: Before beginning the next lesson please complete the following:
- Review the COR/ISO/OSHA Program you attached back in Lesson 1 and ensure it aligns with what you have been working on/towards outside of eCompliance.
